I guess that maybe Toronto “blessing” started well but then the GIFTS of the spirit became more important than Jesus himself and so they came near to Acts 8 (soccerer Simon Magus).
Similiar it seems that the MONTANISTS (about 150 AD) were the first charismatics, started well but also went astray because of their “spiritual overdrive” in the area of gifts.
