“In These Last Days”

Peter is very bold in speaking about what times they were living in. He very clearly declares that Jesus was revealed “in these last days…” Last days of what? How many last days are there? Tonight we’ll take a deep dive through some caverns of scripture to see how many of the caves and tunnels of Biblical prophesy actually intertwine with the first coming of Jesus and his declaration that he was bringing his kingdom at the very moment he was on earth. This means we aren’t to just sit around waiting for Jesus to come and vacuum us out of here, we have work to do. Hezekiah just got healed then he showed Babylon all his treasure and God spoke to him through Isaiah and said that Babylon will come and take it all- Hezekiah was at least honest, and thought 

Isaiah 39:8 “ at least there will be peace in my days”

So in the days of Babylon Daniel gets visions of the End Times and the kingdom transfer is getting set up 

It takes 500 yrs 

Blows our minds

Vs 17 “some of the sons who you beget will become officials in the palace of the king of Baylon
God is setting things up. Isaiah prophecy Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and Daniel 

Remember the 3 wise men waiting for the Messiah? 

Is Christmas real? We are talking ETERNITY

We are talking Resurrection of the dead- go your way Daniel your reward is in the FUTURE 

RESURRECTION- a Future kingdom in which you will reign

Heaven is a spiritual kingdom and yes saints are ruling and reigning in that kingdom

Isaiah 40 1-5= Matthew 3:3 

“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!”
Says your God.

“Speak [a]comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her,
That her warfare is ended,
That her iniquity is pardoned;
For she has received from the Lord’s hand
Double for all her sins.”

The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
“Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make straight [b]in the desert
A highway for our God.

4 

Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made [c]straight
And the rough places smooth;

5 

The glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

And you Bethlehem, lion of Judah, out of you shall come a Ruler who will Shepherd my people Israel

Isaiah 40:3 Make ready the way of the Lord

Matt 3 Vs 7 oh generation of vipers who warned you to flee the wrath to come 

Vs 10 The ax is laid at the Root of the tree, any tree that does bare fruit will be cut down

Vs 12 winnowing fork is in his Hand

He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor, gather his wheat into the barn and burn the chaff

 In THIS GENERATION

Vs 20 appeared in these last times for you 

Flower of grass withers, word of the Lord Endures forever! This is the word preached to you

Vs 3 resurrection

 Vs 4 inheritance, imperishable, reserved in HEaven for you

Vs 5 ready to be be revealed in the LAST TIME

Vs 7 tested by fire

Vs 9 prophets prophesied GRACE would come to you and made careful searches and inquiries

Vs 12 it was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves  but YOU( this generation who would see Jesus, )

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to [e]us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into

Back to Isaiah 40 vs 9 Good news, here is your God

Ruling, rewards, shepherd tend His flock, gather his lambs

Vs 13-14 who had directed the Spirit of the Lord, as his counselor has informed him?

Romans 11:33-36 But what is Paul referring to about the depth of riches of the knowledge of God and His judgment? 

Paul is talking about the amazingness of God to open up salvation to all people, the Gentiles and Jews-

Romans 10:1-13 10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for [a]Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Vs 13= Joel 2:32 32 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls
Preach the Good News

Vs 15 5 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who [b]preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

Vs 18 They have heard! 

Their voice has gone out into all the earth worlds to the end of the World
Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God;

And the firmament[a] shows [b]His handiwork.

Day unto day utters speech,

And night unto night reveals knowledge.

3 

There is no speech nor language

Where their voice is not heard.

4 

Their [c]line has gone out through all the earth,

And their words to the end of the world.

Romans 10:19 = Deuteronomy 31:21
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed:

“Their sound has gone out to all the earth,
And their words to the ends of the world.”

19 But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says:

“I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation,
I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.”

20 But Isaiah is very bold and says:

“I was found by those who did not seek Me;
I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”

21 But to Israel he says:

“All day long I have stretched out My hands
To a disobedient and contrary people.”

Isaiah is VERY BOLD 

I was found of those who did not seek me.
Isaiah 65:1-2 

I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;

    I was found by those who did not seek me.

To a nation that did not call on my name,

    I said, ‘Here am I, here am I.’

All day long I have held out my hands

    to an obstinate people,

who walk in ways not good,

    pursuing their own imaginations—

Now we are back to Romans 11- continued explanations of God reaching out to all other people

The connecting vs to Is 40 is “who is God’s counselor?” Who are you to say I can’t reach the whole world too? Let me explain to you that thai was my plan all along

God has not rejected his people- no

There has been a remnant by God’s GRACIOUS CHOICE By Grace not works

Romans 11 vs 7 7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 Just as it is written:

“God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
To this very day.”

9 And David says:

“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
A stumbling block and a recompense to them.

Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,
And bow down their back always

As it is written Romans 12:8- Deut 29:4 Is 29:10-16 Matt 13:13 

God gave them over to a stupor

Matt 13:13 continues Isaiah 6:9-13

Psalm 69:22-23 table a snake, eyes declared

Vs 11-14 save some of them

Root is holy, 11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their [b]fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. 12 Now if their [c]fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if by any means I may provoke jealousy8 those who are my flesh and save some of them. 15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and [d]fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, [e]goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Partial hardening until the fullness of the Gentiles 

Vs 26= Isaiah 59:20
26 And so all Israel will be [g]saved, as it is written:

“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;

27 

For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”

Gifts and callings are without repentance 

Now Isaiah 59:15-21

So truth fails,
And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.

The Redeemer of Zion

Then the Lord saw it, and [c]it displeased Him
That there was no justice.

16 

He saw that there was no man,
And wondered that there was no intercessor;
Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him;
And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

17 

For He put on righteousness as a breastplate,
And a helmet of salvation on His head;
He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing,
And was clad with zeal as a cloak.

18 

According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay,
Fury to His adversaries,
Recompense to His enemies;
The coastlands He will fully repay.

19 

So shall they fear
The name of the Lord from the west,
And His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

20 

“The Redeemer will come to Zion,
And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,”
Says the Lord.

21 “As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore

Vs 21= Romans 11:27 

6 And so all Israel will be [g]saved, as it is written:
