Rarely does an interview hit so close to home. Michelle and I grew up on Christian music, especially DC Talk and Newsboys. We attended countless concerts and had every lyric committed to memory. When news broke this year that the lead singer of Newsboys and former DC Talk frontman, Michael Tait, had been drugging, raping, and sexually assaulting men and even one woman, my heart sank. How did he get away with it all for so long? People covered it up and silenced the victims. That’s how.|
Many brave victims have come forward to tell their story. Michelle and I had the privilege to speak with the two most recent victims to go public, using their own names. Jason Jones and Randall Crawford were in the studio with DC Talk when they recorded their massive hit: Jesus Freak. Neither of them knew that the other had been molested and drugged by Tait until this year. Randy was not able to join us for this interview but sent a powerful message for our audience.
Jason Jones details the horrific events that happened to both of them and the broken lives left in Tait’s wake. Jason is a former music manager, and Randall is a musician who has collaborated with multiple Christian artists. After hearing of other victims, both decided to come forward and tell their stories. They are launching a website soon called Coalition Reloaded, which will be a place for victims to find help and resources, as well as release relatable and powerful music for healing. We highly encourage everyone to like and SHARE their Facebook and YouTube channels and check out all their recent uploads, especially Survivor, Victim, and Your Silence.
Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.
Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them.

About Jason:
Jason Jones is a survivor and advocate for victims of sexual assault and abuse, and a
prominent figure in the music industry. His public advocacy is rooted in his personal story as a
survivor of sexual assault by Christian rock artist Michael Tait. Jones, who was the founding
manager of the band Evanescence, has been outspoken about his experience to raise
awareness and support other survivors.
In his professional life, Jones has a history of working with creators who produce music on a
massive scale. He is now focused on new ventures with songwriter, producer, and multi-award
winner Randall Crawford and Crawford’s wife, Desiree Fox. The partnership aims to find a
publishing home for Crawford’s new songs, use music to raise awareness about sexual assault,
and collaborate with other artists through the upcoming website, coalitionreloaded.com. Also,

Randall Crawford’s notable achievements include a Grammy Award for his work on the project
‘TobyMac Alive & Transported‘, a Dove Award for his contributions to the album Momentum,
and RIAA Certified Gold status for songs on the albums TobyMac Momentum and Welcome to
Diverse City. Desiree Fox is also a recording artist, with a debut single titled “God’s so good.“
A Note From Jason:
Dear Friends and Supporters,
First, I want to say thank you. To every person who has sent a message, said a prayer, or
stood in solidarity, your support has been a lifeline in what has been the most difficult and
exposing season of my life. Your kindness has reminded me that I am not alone in this fight.
What has come to light recently is not the whole story; it is simply the beginning. We are just
now starting to understand the depth of the deception and the number of lives that have
been shattered.
My own story is one that I have carried in silence for decades. I was young, I was drugged
to the point of unconsciousness, and I was sexually assaulted. When I gathered the
strength to confront Michael Tait, I was not met with help, but with blame. I was told it was
my fault. In the aftermath, I lost not only a piece of myself but also my music career. This is
not just one person’s moral failure; it is the failure of a system that has repeatedly chosen to
protect predators over people.
This is about a culture that has become more concerned with protecting its brand than with
protecting the vulnerable in its midst. It’s a culture that has allowed powerful men to operate
without accountability, silencing victims with shame and fear, all while claiming to represent
the love and justice of God. This has to stop.
My hope for Michael Tait is not for revenge, but for a true, deep, and public repentance. Not
a statement written by a crisis management team, but a genuine acknowledgment of the
harm he has caused and the lives he has damaged. I also pray for the individuals who knew
what was happening and chose to look the other way, who chose to protect their own
positions, and who participated in blaming the victims. Their silence was a second wound,
and there must be accountability for that as well.
To anyone else who has been a victim of this kind of abuse and betrayal, I want to speak
directly to you: I see you. I believe you. You are not to blame, and you are not alone. Your
story matters. Your pain is real. Do not let anyone silence you any longer.
This is not a time for the Church to be defensive. It is a time for cleansing. It is a time to
prove that we are a safe place for the broken, not a hiding place for abusers. Judgment, as
the scripture says, begins in the house of God. This is not a threat; it is a promise of
purification. It is an act of love from a God who despises injustice.
The story of what happened to me is part of my life, but it will not define my entire life. My
name is Jason Jones, and I am a survivor. My voice was taken from me once, but I will use
it now. As long as I have breath, I will speak out against this darkness and fight for those
who have been hurt. We must do better. We must be better. We should tell the truth instead
of burning in hell to protect the LIE.
This is the beginning of a long road toward justice and healing, but I am resolved to walk it.
With deep resolve and gratitude,
Jason Jones
A Note For Survivors:
Dear survivors,
My name is Jason Jones, and as a survivor of sexual assault by Michael Tait, I want to speak
directly to you. I have shared my story, and I am aware that I am one of several people who
have come forward so far, and I know there are many more who have not yet.
I see you. I believe you. You are not to blame, and you are not alone. Your story matters, and
your pain is real.
If you have been harmed, abused, or sexually assaulted by Michael Tait, I want to talk with you.
There is a limited amount of time to contact the right authorities, and I can help you do that while
remaining anonymous. Your voice deserves to be heard, and we must not let these crimes go
unheard and unreported. Do not let anyone silence you any longer.
Please contact me. Together, we can ensure that this darkness is brought to light and that we
fight for those who have been hurt.
